On the Christmas Eve over Atherton in 1986, the guardian angel Clara is assigned to convince the desperate Jane Barclay not to waste her most precious gift. Jane is a good woman that sacrificed her dreams and her youth on behalf of the citizens of her small town. She inherited the Mill of her father's and gave up travelling the world and joining University as scheduled. Can Clara save her by retelling her life story through memory? "Every time a bell rings, an angel gets their wings" - in Will Travis' adaptation of "It's a Wonderful Life" we meet a young woman struggling to keep afloat in a difficult economy.
The story still sticks well and truly to Frank Capra's film version - although with a twist of having a female lead and being set a little closer to home in an Atherton Mill (Victoria Mill to be exact). All your favourite moments will still be in there though just with a slight twist. Do come join Stolen Thread Productions again for an evening of magical storytelling, heart-warming Christmas feels and some cracking theatre in the form of an old school classic!
