There’s more in Exeter’s award-winning museum than you might imagine, its 16 galleries of displays take visitors on a voyage of discovery from pre-history to the present day and from Exeter all around the world.
Free entry gives everyone the freedom to visit many times and to stay for any length of time.
With three special exhibition spaces, its changing programme means there is ikely to be something different to see every visit, from national touring
shows to community displays and fine art from the city’s collection. (Please note there may be an entry charge for some special exhibitions).
Displays draw from the city’s collection including local history and archaeology. Exotic animals, birds and butterflies delight children, the Ancient History gallery includes an Egyptian mummy’s tomb, and the World Cultures galleries display incredible objects from across the globe.
RAMM is for everyone. Situated between Rougemont and Northernhay gardens and the city’s busy commercial centre, it is easily accessible by foot, bike, bus, rail or car. The splendid Victorian building has full wheelchair access and a key objects tour with BSL, plus plenty of audio trails, large-print
captions, portable stools, wheelchairs and a hearing loop. Online content can be enjoyed by all visitors using the free WiFi - just ask any member of visitor services for more information.
Don’t forget to visit The Shop at RAMM, offering hand-picked gifts and unique craft items alongside books and affordable souvenirs for children. The shop stocks items by local artisans and exclusive RAMM merchandise, offering a unique shopping experience inspired by the museum.
