We are a small community group in Bishop Auckland England.
We have established a People’s Museum in the old Hippodrome Theatre where we are also planning to reopen part of the original building as a period cinema.
We have also established a Heritage walk in the town, which will be a great educational tool and a lovely walk to promote well being.
We hope to give visitors an attraction that doesn’t yet exist in our area, A glimpse into our forgotten past and bringing the past back to life for future generations.

* At this moment in time, the museum can’t accommodate anyone under the age of 18, due to gaming regulations. The building is still a bingo hall and we have to adhere to regulations that are in place.
