The History of Christmas by Prof Ronald Hutton

About

When did Christmas become Christmas? How old are the customs which we generally observe at it now: prehistoric or Victorian? Are
Santa Claus and Father Christmas the same, and where did they come from? Are there any enduring characteristics of the festival which will always survive? This talk is designed to answer all these questions.

Professor Hutton is a leading authority on history of the British Isles in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. As a broadcaster and academic, Ronald Hutton is an excellent choice to inform us on this ever changing part of our heritage.
