With a stage graced by some of the biggest names in show business, such as Jo Brand, Ed Byrne and Josh Widdicombe it is the talented and enthusiastic local performers that make Sterts very much a ‘community theatre’ and arts centre.
The day-to-day running of Sterts is carried out by volunteers and although survival for all small theatres in these difficult times is a real challenge, so long as audiences keep enjoying our shows and our volunteers are there to provide their invaluable help, Sterts will hold fast to its founding dream of theatrical opportunity for everybody.
Book Your Tickets Online - www.sterts.co.uk
Tickets are also available from the Box Office on 01579 362382 or in person from 10am-4pm Monday-Friday, 10am-1pm Saturday and 'on the door' prior to performances.
You can collect your pre-paid and online tickets from the kiosk just outside the main theatre on the day of the performance.
Take your seat
The main performance area is a natural amphitheatre covered by a giant tent that keeps you dry in the Cornish rain, so it's like the outdoors but inside. During evening performances, once the sun goes down, it can get a bit chilly so bring something warm to wear and maybe a blanket to keep you cosy. The 400 seat amphitheatre is lined with wooden benches, so it's a good idea to bring a comfy cushion or we can let you borrow one for a small donation.
Food and drink
Sterts Cafe serves an array of delicious, home cooked food in the main building before each show. However, prior booking is essential.
Sterts Snacks is open near the theatre before each performance selling light bites and hot drinks. Ice creams and confectionery are also available and there's a well-stocked bar in the main building.
We have lovely grounds where you can enjoy your own picnic and we don't mind if you bring a a little something to eat and drink into the theatre either. Many of our regular visitors enjoy a glass of wine and nibbles during a performance.
Facilities
Reserved parking, wheelchair access and toilet facilities are provided for disabled visitors.
Baby changing facilities are available in the reception building
There is FREE CAR PARKING on site. Before sell-out shows this fills up very quickly, however there is extra parking on the roadside outside the theatre and in the village. Please park considerately so that we don't upset our neighbours.
We welcome coach parties. Please notify the Box Office in advance.
