Join us on 8th and 9th December, when it is Barrow Hill Roundhouse’s turn to host Shine A Light and enjoy a visually stunning projection onto the roundhouse, created by internationally-renowned Derbyshire-born video projection artists Illuminos.
Barrow Hill Roundhouse is the last surviving railway roundhouse in the United Kingdom with an operational turntable. Watch as an industry is reborn. The table turns as this epicentre of railway power erupts into a mighty crucible of light and sound. This is a story of hope and transformation, skills preserved, of a proud past realigned to a new future for transport. Fire, coal, steam, diesel and electricity come pouring down the train tracks, in a spectacular celebration.
All children aged 16 and under must be accompanied by an adult
Free car parking available on site with purchase of event ticket. Disabled car parking available.
Under 4's are free.
