Our Annual Walk into the Sea event, raising funds for local good causes, takes place on Boxing Day each year on Paignton Sea Front Beach at 12 mid-day.
Each year hundreds of fundraisers don optional fancy dress and at the starter's command swiftly walk into the chilly waters of the English Chanel where fun and frivolity begins.
This popular event is watched by many, both locals and visitors alike, who shiver at the thought and laugh at the spectacle before them whilst applauding the spirit of those taking part all in the name of charity.
The event is a sponsored Walk into the Sea with participants being able to allocate 50% of their sponsorship monies to a Charity/Cause of their choosing with the remainder going to the Lions chosen Charities. For those who wish to take part but for whom sponsorship is not their thing, you can Pre register and submit a participants fee - Adults £10.00pp or Under 16s £5.00pp.
The days proceedings starts with Registration opening at 10.00am where all participants have to register to take part (free with sponsorship) and are then encouraged to make their way onto the beach for the judging of the fancy dress at 11.45am followed by the starter's signal at 12 mid-day.
2023's event saw a magnificent turn out in both participants and spectators, if you have not taken part before then this is your chance. there is no better time than to this year to do so. This your opportunity start fancy dress planning and burn off some of the Christmas indulgences whilst raising funds for a cause of your choosing.
