Manchester will celebrate the city's annual Irish Festival in March this year with an action packed two weeks of Irish Art, Comedy, Dance, Music, Sport and Theatre.

Sunday 6 March 2022 to Sunday 20 March The festival which is now established as one of the biggest Irish Festivals in Europe.

Festival Highlights include:

1. Two-week Irish Festival at St Kent’s Irish Club, the venue celebrates its 50th anniversary with a host of Irish Music, Song and Dance events taking place on every day of the.

2. The Levenshulme Pub Company and its four venues in South Manchester will be staging two weeks of free events. This includes the launch of the St Patricks week at the Farmers Arms in Burnage with an outside broadcast by Joe Casserley and Clare Flynn’s new multimedia show ‘OnEire’ on Sunday 13 March. Doors open at 2pm, The Lord Mayor and leader of Manchester City Council will officially launch the event. Irish Entertainment will include the Keegan Academy of Irish Dance, the Fianna Padraig Pipe Band, Irish Singer - Queen Grace and Fiddle player Colleen Langan plus a host of traditional musicians performing with Angela usher.

3. The award-winning Fianna Phadraig Pipe band are coming up to their 75th anniversary and will be taking the festival on tour. Watch out for their visits to different locations throughout the city on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 March. On St Patricks Day itself on Thursday 17 March they will be touring Levenshulme, Burnage and Fallowfield.

4. O’Sheas will be staging a two-week festival in their outdoor venue in the city centre

5. The newly re-opened Irish World Heritage Centre in Cheetham Hill are planning to run a parade from the Centre to the MEN Arena and back to the Centre on Sunday 13 March at 12 noon along with a week of events at the centre.

6. Return to County Levenshulme, the popular Irish village in South Manchester which is home to one of the UKs biggest Irish Communities is hosting a series of free Irish Music, Sport and Fun events to celebrate the festival. With 15 pubs and bars located along the A6 the area will be turned green to welcome home visitors back to the area known as affectionately as Irelands 33rd County.
