Walk this way! The Isle of Wight Walking Festival will return in Spring 2025 (10th - 18th May) and Autumn 2025 (4th - 12th October).

An event for keen hikers, relaxed wanderers, and curious explorers alike, the Isle of Wight Walking Festival is a friendly coming together in the great outdoors for all ages, offering a chance to meet new people, learn and discover the many wonders of the Wight. 

With a plethora of routes on offer to suit all abilities, the Isle of Wight Walking Festival is an inclusive event providing a guided tour through our island’s varied landscape, thriving wildlife and rich heritage. 

Find your perfect guided tour on the Isle of Wight
This friendly festival hosts a variety of walks led by knowledgeable volunteer walk leaders. You’ll easily find a walk that suits you - whether you’re looking for a shorter stroll or a day long hike across the Island. There will be a variety of themed walks from heritage and nature to highlighting renowned historical figures including scientist, Robert Hooke and famous author, Charles Dickens. 

Are you looking for a challenge? Why not join David, a member of the Ramblers and known for his long-distance walking to take part in a 24-hour non-stop round the island walk.

New walks for Spring 2025
Bring your four-legged friend on a dog walk along the coast from Tennyson Down to The Needles. Enjoy an Evening Escapade from Calbourne Mill passing through the village of Newbridge and taking in stunning views.  

Explore the Isle of Wight on foot
Over half the Isle of Wight is an Isle of Wight National Landscape (formerly known as Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) and the Island is a UNESCO Bisosphere Reserve. Add 500 miles of well-maintained and signposted footpaths and you'll see why the Isle of Wight is the perfect place for a walking festival. 

Free guided walks
The majority of the Isle of Wight Walking Festival walks are free or there is a small donation to charity or charge requested.
