Christmas Lights Switch-On
There will be a Christmas lights switch-on event in the High Street and Saxon Square on Saturday, 23 November 2024, as the town centre transforms into a festive wonderland from 11am to 7pm – with the big lights switch-on at 5pm.
The event promises a variety of entertainment, including unmissable live music from headline acts, local bands and school choirs showcasing Christchurch talent. The electrifying Hush Club Disco will make a return to the High Street bringing their party energy throughout the day.
Adding to the festive spirit, visitors will be able to meet Father Christmas, enjoy William Cole Funfair rides and meet some of their favourite Christmas icons including Frozen’s Olaf.
Christmas Tree Festival at Highcliffe Castle
Highcliffe Castle is hosting our first ever Christmas Tree Festival in December 2024. Following the exceptional number of visitors to our already well established Christmas events, we are now looking to broaden our offering to welcome even more visitors to the Castle.
The decorated trees will take pride of place in our State Rooms. Visitors can enjoy Christmas storytelling and a festive trail which will incorporate the trees you’ve contributed to create a delightful experience for all.
Following another successful Creative Christmas event last November, we are excited to announce Highcliffe Castle will be hosting ‘Creatives at the Castle’ Christmas Fair on Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 November 2024 10am – 4pm.
Christmas events at the Red House Museum and Gardens
There will be Carols In The Courtyard on the 7 December 2024 and a Christmas Gnome Hunt from 7 December 2024 - 5 January 2025 at the Red House Museum and Gardens.
The Regent Centre
This Christmas the Regent Centre Theatre has a number of productions including their Christmas Spetacular which runs from 14 to 24 December 2024 which is a musical, the story follows Santa and his elves busily preparing for Christmas when an unexpected visitor arrives in Christmas town and things start to turn spooky.
There are also some great films to entertain the family over the festive period such as the Royal Ballet and Opera with The Nutcracker to Top Gun.

Christmas Carol Singing
Carols In The Square takes place on Saturday 14 December 2024 at Saxon Square in Christchurch town centre. From 4:30pm to 5:30pm there will be a live band leading the carols, as well as mince pies and mulled wine for sale.
Carols On The Quay will take place on Friday 20 December 2024, 7pm on Mudeford Quay at The Haven House Inn. This event is free but donations to Mudeford RNLI Lifeboat Station are greatly appreciated. There will be mulled wine, minced pies, burgers and hot dogs available at the Haven House Inn, with proceeds to the RNLI.
