Lyme Regis is a wonderful place to visit during the festive season.
In the run up to Christmas, the shops will be brimming with gift ideas or you can take time to breathe in the bracing sea air with a stroll along the seafront and perhaps coffee and a mince pie in one of the lovely cafes? To make it even more special, Lyme's picturesque Broad Street will be positively sparkling from Saturday 23rd November 2024.
Lyme Regis comes alight with the annual Lantern Making Workshop, followed by the Lantern Parade and finally the Christmas Light Switch On. From 2:30pm on Saturday 23rd November.
The Lyme Regis Christmas Tree Festival takes place in the Baptist Church from 13th to 15th December 2024. The spectacular display of decorated trees represents the work of organisations in Lyme who have each decorated a tree.
If you're looking for some Christmas magic then make sure you visit Lyme Regis over the Big Christmas Weekend. There's lots of events and activities taking place including the Christmas Tree Festival, Santa’s Grotto, a makers market, best dressed window competition, live music, as well as special Big Christmas Weekend deals in the local shops and eateries.
Santa's Helper Experience at The Town Mill
Visit the Town Mill from 21st December until 24th December for some festive fun at the Santa's Helper Experience. The top floor of The Mill will be transformed into Santa’s Workshop, where many toys and presents will be stored ready for Santa to deliver on Christmas Eve! Using the ancient sack hoist, children can help to get big sacks full of presents up to Santa's workshop in time for Christmas Eve!
Join in with Carols Around the Tree hosted by the Rotary Club and Lyme Regis Town Band. From 7pm by the big Christmas tree in Broad Street on 23rd December.
New Years Day
At 12pm watch the annual Duck Race as hundreds of numbered toy plastic ducks race down the River Lim with prizes for the winners and last duck home. At 1pm watch or join in the Lyme Lunge where people brave the chill with a dip in the sea.
