THIS WALK IS PART OF THE ENGLISH RIVIERA WALKING FESTIVAL
What’s not to like about a walking tour that includes locally made Chocolate and Gin?
Set back from Torquay’s sea front, Cockington is a quintessentially English village, dating back over 1,000 years. With its thatched cottages, bowl-shaped cricket pitch, historic Manor House, cream tea shops and a traditional English pub. In fact, Cockington is claimed to be the inspiration for the village of St Marymead, the home of Miss Marple, which became the crime capital of England for many years. It really is a chocolate box surprise!
Talking of chocolate, this walk introduces guests to https://www.chocolateheavenmadeindevon.co.uk/a family run artisan shop that uses the finest continental chocolate and locally sourced ingredients to create truffles, bars, gift sets and novelty products. You’ll have a chance to sample their mouth-watering delights and speak to the owners about their passion for chocolate.
To reward yourselves at the end of the tour, as the sun sets over Cockington, you’ll be treated to a glass (or two) of the award winning https://www.torbaygin.co.uk/, whose liquid changes colour when the mixer is added!
Visit the picturesque 11th century chapel
Enjoy some retail therapy around the artisan shops at Cockington, including a blacksmith and glass blower
Wander through its country park which combines a beautiful mix of picturesque well-ordered garden landscapes, rural countryside and substantial woodland, with plenty of room for dogs to explore.
