Apple Pressing & Cider Making Workshop

About

Visit Devon to try the very best of the autumn harvest with a Cider Making Workshop with Lunch at The Courtney's Orchards. Courtney's Orchards make around 6,500 litres of cider and 10,000 litres of apple juice each year. If you want to make the most of your fruit, using the resources from your own back garden, allotment or friends and family, this experience day is for you!

Stroll through the orchards and discover a little bit about the best apple varieties for juice and cider. Pop into the barn to learn about the history of pressing and cider making, as well as about the project's mission to reduce food waste. Then it's time to get hands-on picking, washing, milling and pressing apples to make some juice of your own. The unique tasting session will reveal the differences between processed and fresh apple juices, and how different apples can completely change the flavour.

As you sip delicious mulled apple juice, you'll learn how to take your new apple-pressing skills to the next level and how to make some cider of your own at home. Wandering in the delightful old orchard, picking, milling, and pressing can be hungry work, so a delicious lunch is included.
