If you and your little ones (or just you, no judgement here!) want nothing more than to get up close and personal with animals from around the world, whether that's learning more about lions or feeding lambs, we know just the thing. Plus visiting a zoo, small holding or aquarium is a great way to spend a day.

The UK has lots of attractions all over the country that wildlife enthusiasts will love. From the large - such as the National Marine Aquarium in Plymouth and ZSL London Zoo - to the smaller, like Noah's Ark Farm near Bristol, all are great at educating and entertaining on the subject of native or exotic animals or marine life.

Take a look at events below showing you all the fun animal events going on across the country! What better excuse to visit some of the UK's most interesting places, why not find out what is going on at Longleat in Wiltshire. Set in the grounds of Longleat House, the safari park is a great place to visit for young and old. You can tour the park in a car or their Safari bus. During the tour you can stop at the African Village and see the animals on foot, including giraffes and zebras. Make sure if you visit the monkey's to keep an eye on your wiperblades and wing mirrors! If safari parks are your bag, the West Midland's Safari Park, a bit further up the country, there is so much going on you can guarantee you won't have anyone bored in your party!
How about going to the National Marine Aquarium in Plymouth, the UK's biggest aquarium? As well as being home to many international species, it explores the local waters of Devon too, being divided into four main zones: Plymouth Sound, British Coasts, Atlantic Ocean and Blue Planet.`

If you're at the other end of the country, take a look at Chester Zoo, one of the UK’s most visited zoos with over 15,000 animals, 500 different species and 125 acres of habitats!
